Jasper – Maligne Canyon and Lake

First hike was through Maligne Canyon. This is 6 bridges which leads a few miles at the top of the canyon looking at the path the river has cut through over many years

At the start looks pretty innocuous

But then suddenly the canyon drops right away

Towards the end it all starts to level off a bit again and you question how it cut so deeply for so many miles

Driving next to Maligne Lake we first passed Medicine Lake

Quite a few of the trails were only open to groups of 4 of more carrying bear spray so we opted for one that promised some good critter viewing

Oh yes and its cold and chucking it down with rain

And finally we got to Maligne Lake
