The Althabasca waterfall is a little south of Jasper on the Icefield Parkway. Not much to look at from the top;
But soon gets more interesting
Check out the spray
Similar to Maligne canyon the water has gouged deeply
Had to climb to the bottom for some great views back up. They have carved steps into a route the river doesn't use any more
Don't let the sun confuse you into thinking Canada in August is warm – still wearing lots of layers
At the bottom of the falls the river calmly returns to a slow running river, although slightly grey/white from all the sediment in the water.
