Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton National Park almost joins Yellowstone at the southern end but very different scenery.

Jackson Lake is the largest lake as you can see. You won't be able to make out the numerous wildlife trails down to the water on all sides from the pictures but there were loads so must be great wildlife viewing of an evening

Great mountains. The biggest one is Teton who stands 12,000 foot tall

Whole range of mountains are the heart of the park but not very accessible. Still some snow on the upper levels

You do get to drive down almost the whole range so some great views and frequent stops

A close up so you can see where glaciers are or were until pretty recently

This one seems to have a huge crack through the whole mountain. Wonder what caused that?

We decided to hike up to hidden waterfalls which was a bit steep as the lower trail was out of action, being rebuilt. Some great views around Jenny lake on the way up

Inspiration point gave a little time to regain breathe and prepare for the final push

Not bad waterfalls once we got up there

However, the trail was too steep for P to repeat so he decided we would walk the “other” way back. This meant looping the remainder of the lake. Very scenic but a little more than we expected.

Fortunately the views made the miles fly by (not!)
