Alaska - Views

Some people have asked us why we liked Alaska so much.  I think these images go some way to answering them (and our poor photography doesn’t tell half the story).

  1. It does look stunning. And empty. Do you think that is why you liked it so much?

  2. It really is the last wilderness in the US. At just over twice the size of Texas with just over 700k people (and most of those live around Anchorage) it's really empty and yes I think that's one of it's great draws. But, at the same time it's quite brutal, there's the sense that nature will quickly turn on those who are not prepared...
After Alaska it's slightly odd coming back to a big city - slightly uncomfortable.

  3. Stunning views and plenty of wild animal shots - although Patrick is looking increasingly tamer as the holiday progresses. I'm sure the real thing looks so much better in real life so very envious indeed. Best wishes for the rest of the trip.... Al & Tasj
